Sunday the 2nd of March

Last night Caleb Ott, our youngest brother, was in a fatal car accident. We know he is with Jesus and in no pain, but it sure hurts down here as we miss him already. Please pray for us as we grieve the loss of one of God's most beautiful creations.

Lynne and family,
I just checked the blog to see how you were doing since your last treatment on Thursday. This was the last thing that I expected to see.

I am just devastated and physically sick, and cannot imagine what your family is going through right now. The loss of a precious child can never be explained to a parent.

We are praying diligently that the Lord will give you His peace and compassion at this time. And that His presence will just completely cover you with His Love and care.

Please let us know what, besides prayers, we can do for you right now.
Josh, as difficult as it is, please keep us updated.
Much love, prayers, and sympathy

We are shocked and saddened by this unexpected and tragic news. As one of Caleb's Sunday School teachers many years ago I know he had a deep interest in the things of God and the Bible. Even at such a young age he could ask questions that I could tell came from thinking "on his own" about the Bible stories that we studied together. At times I was unable to answer his questions and just had to admit I didn't know, but that God had a reason for everything He did and some things we just have to leave at that. I take great comfort in knowing his questions are now answered and he sees Him face to face. I hope you all can take comfort in that fact as well.

I am so sorry to hear this I really am. A son like Caleb and a family like yours does not deserve what has happened. He will truly be missed by everyone. I pray for you and your family's strength in the future....

I don't think a moment has gone by since hearing the news last night, that my heart has not ached for you. The feeling that I can't do anything to make it better is the most hopeless feeling of all. There is nothing I can say aexcept we care. Judy Burcik

Lord, I pray that all who are mourning the loss of Caleb would be comforted by Your Holy Spirit. May they be strengthened by the promises found in Your Word, which stand true forever. May all the young people who have been affected by Caleb's passing draw near to You. I pray they would seek You and want to know what (Who) the Ott family stands for. May Randy, Lynne, Josh, Matt and Luke be enveloped in Your grace and Your love. May they find peace in the arms of Jesus. In Christ's Name. Amen.

It will take quite a bit of time for a loss such as this to sink in. Having spent so much time with Caleb in baseball, soccer and basketball over the years certainly gave me an appreciation of the kind of person Caleb was. My wife and I are so very sorry for your loss.

The eyes of your friends.

You approach the doors knowing what to expect,
But every time it’s still different yet.
The people and flowers all placed into lines,
And photographs, showing the times.
Of that shell of a man in the coffin up there,
By the family and close friends,
whose love he did share.
You enter, and silently form into the chain,
Of the other faces all doing same.
Giving respect and what’s left of your comfort,
To his grieving family still shocked and so hurt.
His friends who entered so strong and so stern,
Are now standing and crying awaiting there turn.
To face the face of his father and dying mother,
Beside them are every last brother.
Whose eyes are red and lacking of sleep,
There faces are flushed and their posture is weak.
From the days of mourning the life of there clan,
The life of a son, the life of a man.
The life of a brother and a friend to us all.
A part of our lives, some big and some small.
You shake there hand, and clasp there back,
Whisper I’m sorry, let them know that,
You share there pain and loss of a life,
And offer amenity in all of there strife.
You turn to leave knowing it’s over not yet,
You entered all dry eyed, now with cheeks still wet.
To face all of those who are awaiting there turn,
Standing there strong, and standing there stern.
They see all of your sorrow and all of your pain,
And prepare themselves for they feel the same.
Soon to give comfort and all of there love,
To honor this life, and loss of Caleb……..
I’m sorry
