I have decided to leave this blog online, for an undetermined amount of time. Not just to give honor to the life of my mother. But also because public access allows this blog to raise some awareness of this terrible and all too often fatal disease. You will find the story of mom's sickness throughout the posts. This disease is often diagnosed at a late stage due to the lack of early onset symptoms and dificulty screening. It is very difficult to treat and the success rate for those suffering from this most terrible type of cancer is very low. On top of that hardly any progress has been made in the treatment of pancreatic cancer in the past 30 years. This is largely due to a lack of Federal funding, which attracts young "out of the box" researchers to the fight. These researchers are very much needed. I would ask you to support pancreatic cancer research through donating to one of the following organizations.
