Thursday the 20th of December

Mom did not receive chemotherapy treatment yesterday. The meeting with Dr. White to review the radiologist report on the cat-scan did not turn out as we had previously hoped. The report indicated that the gemsar/tarseva treatment that mom has been on did not inhibit the cancer as much as we thought. Mom's pancreatic tumor has shown some more growth, the lymph node on mom's lungs looked a little bit larger and there were a few more spots of cancer in mom's lungs. The treatment will be changed to a much stronger, newer type of treatment combining gemsar with an intravenous drip of oxaliplatin. The treatment will be bi-weekly and will take three hours to administer as oposede to the previous 30 minute treatment. We still have many questions that we are working through with our doctors and we hope to have more details on mom's cancer and treatment in the near future.

Please continue to pray for mom and our family as we continue to fight the cancer.

Dear Lynne,
I know you must be feeling pretty down after yesterday's news, but I want you to know that our God is the God of the impossible!! He still reigns and that same God is still holding your hand!! A friend shared Psalm 20 with me this week so I'm passing it on to you and inserting your name for the king.

"In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from harm. May he send you help from the sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your offerings.
May he grant your heart's desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all our prayers.
Now I know the Lord rescues his anointed. He will answer from his holy heaven and rescue by his great power. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God! Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm.
Give victory to Lynne O Lord! Answer our cry for help!

I know you may be tempted to give up - don't!!! Victory may be just around the corner! Love you bundles, Margy

Hi Honey

One of the many things that has come out of our trials is a greater realization as to the tremendous blessing God gives to me every day through you. Our tears and laughs are all part of this journey. Let us focus on Jesus as we take this latest bend in the road. He will see us through. Our Lord knows the way through the wilderness all we have to do is follow.

Love

Randy

Please do not become discouraged by the news you have received. Doctors always must give all the information to the patient (good and bad) and let them know what can happen (even if there is little to no chance of it happening). One of those annoying legal matters!! The very fact that they are continuing the treatment and even getting more aggressive with it indicates they believe that they can get a handle on it. I can call to mind people that I have known who have battled cancer in the past (some 20 or more years ago) and are still here with us and I know that they are making progress in controlling it. Modern medicine is remarkable and we are truly fortunate to live at such a time. However, God is greater and more powerful than any tool or treatment man can design. He has promised that no matter what happens, we win!!!

God bless,
Love,

Dear Mrs. Ott -
I know that this news may be discouraging, but just remain positive. Our family has learned from experience that it takes a lot of trial and error before they find the correct type/dosage of chemo that works for you. Just hang in there - yours will come along! In the mean time, enjoy your Christmas with your family!

Dear Lynne,
I'm thinking of that old illustration of the tapestry. You know. One side full of knots and not so pretty, but the other side is one of beauty. The Master Weaver is allowing some extra knots right now, but I know He has a plan for a beautiful tapestry named Lynne Ott. Try to remain encouraged and enjoy your family time over the Christmas vacation.

Lynne,
I can't imagine how you must have felt after receiving the latest report. I only know that the Lord is lovingly caring for you and your family as you go through this journey.
I really appreicate Josh's up dates. They really keep us informed, but more, help us to pray with understanding.
Please know that we are continuously praying for you and your family. We want God's richest blessings and joys to be yours today and always.
Stay strong and believe that a miracle is coming at this season of wondrous miracles.
lovingly, Lyn and John Van Druff

Dear Lynne,
As we celebrate the Birth of Jesus who loved us so much that He went to die for us, be assured that He continues to love you and cares about you. As a child depends on his father for comfort, we need to depend on our Heavenly Father for comfort and strength to make it through life's trials.
Merry Christmas!
We love you,

Lynne,

With the love of Christ in your and Randys heart and the love that Randy has in his heart for you I recall Ecclesiastes 4:12
Though one may be overpowered two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands in now quickly broken. Just keep looking up and don't break that rope. I know you can do it.

Merry Christmas. So many people are thinking about you on this special day. Christmas is all about love, and no one understands that word more than you. As much love as you get, you give back so much more. I want to stop by and see you as soon as possible. Take care. Judy

Lynne, Randy and family: What does the Bible say? "We are the sheep of His pasture." Whose pasture? "The LORD is my Shepherd!" Usually sheep follow the shepherd, but when the way is hard and steep the good Shepherd gathers His lamb into His arms and carries her. "Underneath are the everlasting arms," Lynne. Nothing can harm you there!
You all are in our prayers...

Hi Lynne,
By now you should be on your way to Phila--maybe already there. Praying you have a super Christmas celebration with your family. All that love and support will be a great gift to you and Randy. How wonderful it is to be a part of your earthly family and the family of God. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift. I know that refers to Christ, but He has given us so uch more above and beyond what we could ever imagine. Merry Day after Christmas!! Nance

Lynne,
While decorating the Christmas tree with the kids this year I hung several of the ornaments you had given to us over the years while we lived in Pa. A snowflake from 1996, a hanging glass manger and a mitten just to name a few. As I hung each one I said a prayer for you and your family. Thank you for being a part of our family even now, its been 9 years since we have lived in Pa. I pray 2008 will be a glorious year for you and your family filled with miracles and blessing beyond belief.
Hugs and in my thoughts,
